We had another great week last week! Our I Love to Read activities were fun and added to our Valentine's celebration! Check out some pictures from the week!
We got to snuggle up and read in the hallway... with all of the other kids at Russell School!
We had fun doing centers dressed in rainbow colors.... books can open up a rainbow of learning!
But the best of all was opening our Valentine buckets! Our Buddies helped us read our cards and discover all of the ways a card with kind words can fill a bucket!
Perhaps the highlight of our week was learning about the ABC's of Bullying from Dizzy Grant of the Harlem Globetrotters! He taught us that if we were being bullied or if we saw someone being bullied... we should take ACTION by telling the bully to stop! We should show BRAVERY by telling an adult! And we should show COMPASSION by thinking about how others feel! We had fun watching Dizzy teach some Russell students the Globetrotters Magic Circle -and even more watching him spin the ball on his finger or on his head! We even went outside and tried out those tricks ourselves! (We may have some future Globetrotter's on our hands!!)
This week we'll be working hard on RESPECT all around our school!!
